CHILLIWACK, B.C. — Mounties in B.C.'s Lower Mainland say a months-long trafficking investigation spanned multiple cities and led to the seizure of significant quantities of illicit drugs, along with guns and $500,000 in cash.
Police say officers seized more than 14 kilograms of suspected fentanyl, the highly potent opioid linked to thousands of drug poisoning deaths in B.C. in recent years. The RCMP say seven people ranging in age from 21 to 40 were arrested as a result of the March 27 operation, but they have since been released.
