British Columbia's health minister, Josie Osborne, announced 26 new substance-use beds across the province on January 20, 2025. These beds will be located in various communities, including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, and Prince Rupert, and will provide support for women, pregnant women, mothers, and men.

“Each new expansion represents our commitment to person-centred and evidence-based care that meets people where they are in their recovery journey.”
