Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office recently added a new press secretary to its ranks, Simon Lafortune, who started on the job on Dec. 9 and was recently put through his paces with the totally normal and definitely not-at-all-chaotic day that was Dec. 16. Simon Lafortune is now a PMO press secretary. Photograph courtesy of LinkedIn Lafortune joined the PMO straight from National Defence Minister Bill Blair’s office where he’d been press secretary and communications adviser since July 2024.
, and switched to full-time status by the start of 2022. The PMO communications team is currently overseen by executive director Max Valiquette alongside director of communications Vanessa Hage-Moussa, director of media relations Ann-Clara Vaillancourt, director of digital communications Jane Deeks, and acting deputy communications director Laurie Bouchard.
