Alberta wildfires: Valleyview residents to return home ABFires
Residents first evacuated on May 5 due to the Dunes West wildfire, which is an estimated 1,581 hectares. On Tuesday, officials declared it under control and began a staggered re-entry to the area.
Officials are asking Albertans to respect the bans and follow restrictions to reduce the chance of starting wildfires and further stressing resources. “Traditionally, one of our most high-activity weekends for wildfires is still coming up ahead of us the May long weekend tends to be when Albertans go out into the woods,” Tucker said.Article content
