Businesses in B.C.'s Columbia Valley are happy to see Alberta licence plates again, even though both provinces are still recommending against non-essential travel

Businesses in B.C. say they are wanting Albertans to come visit and spend their vacation dollars.INVERMERE, B.C. -- One of the first things drivers see heading in to Radium B.C. along Highway 93 is sign out front the old Salzburg restaurant reading, "Welcome Back Alberta."

The warm welcome is a change from what many Albertans have experienced in the last two months after entering British Columbia. Some Albertans have found notes on their vehicles that have admonished them to "Go Home!", while others have been yelled at or had their vehicles vandalized. "Every business on this street is dependent on tourism. And without it, we would not be the town that we are," says Miller. "We welcome Alberta. We like Alberta. So we want to make sure that that's loud and clear: Alberta, we love you."

Despite closing her restaurant over two months ago, McCormack says loyal Alberta customers actually helped keep the business afloat by purchasing gift certificates.
