Alabama woman who was shot while pregnant is charged in the death of the fetus:

Jones was charged with manslaughter on Wednesday and released from jail on Thursday after posting a $50,000 bond,reports, citing authorities and the website of the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Office in Alabama. The police say Jones was responsible because she started the fight that led to the shooting and put herself in harm’s way.
The case comes amid a growing debate over the rights of pregnant women across the country, and in Alabama in particular. In May, the Alabamabanning abortion at every stage of pregnancy and criminalizing the procedure for doctors, the Times reports. The bill sets up a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.
