As Ottawa’s NHL team continues to find ways to lose, it’s an altogether different story for the city’s OHL squad.

“People don’t remember how you start, they remember how you finish,” Cameron said before the 67’s boarded the bus once again for Thursday’s game against the North Bay Battalion.

After playing North Bay Thursday, the 67’s will move on to Peterborough Saturday night and return home for a Sunday matinee against Sudbury. Matier says he has benefitted from being part of the powerhouse 67’s team of 2019-20 that was on target to win the OHL title before the arrival of COVID-19. Cameron says an even younger version of the 67’s showed composure and competitiveness in the latter stages of the 2021-22 season. He was impressed at how that carried over into summer training.

“Everyone just came back a little bit stronger from the summer, a little older, a little more confident and we’re more used to the systems now that Dave is back for a second season,” Gardiner said.
