Cameron, who has served as head coach for 766 OHL, 240 AHL and 137 NHL games with the Ottawa Senators, understands more than anyone the ebbs and flows that come with a long, grinding season. The club had one day for practice at TD Place Wednesday before going back on the road, but the way Cameron sees it, that’s the most vital part of the winning equation.

“You’ve got to stay humble and keep at the same level,” said defenceman Jack Matier, the Nashville Predators prospect who scored eight goals and 15 assists in his first 20 games. “It’s a really long season. You can’t know what’s in the future, so you’ve just got to stay in the present.”Article content

The 67’s have showcased their depth, as well. Eight players have scored at least seven goals so far, including Senators prospect Tyler Boucher, who has seven goals and four assists in 12 games.Article content Chief among those players is Brad Gardiner, who headed into Thursday’s game with 11 goals and four assists.
