For the first time since 2020, the annual Sudbury Playground Hockey League Police Cup Tournament took over the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex this weekend.“This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Sudbury Playground Hockey League in our community,” GSPS said in a Facebook post. “The SPHL believes that hockey should be available to anyone who is interested in playing and that what truly matters is sportsmanship and a love for the game.
The tournament not only gives the Playground League teams the opportunity to compete, the Police Cup also looks to give back to the community.
