Gov. Greg Abbott will visit Dallas on Tuesday, one day after a storm slammed the region with heavy rain and flooding that killed at least one person.

A press conference will follow at 11:30.He will be joined by several Dallas officials, including Mayor Eric Johnson and Chief Eddie García.
The record-breaking storm dumped up to 15 inches of rain in some parts of Dallas. Dallas Forth Worth International Airport recorded more than nine inches of rain over a 24-hour period. The deluge swamped roads, submerged cars and wreaked havoc on residents’ Monday-morning commute. A woman’s body was pulled from her car in Mesquite as the water receded Monday afternoon, according to the Mesquite Fire Department. Her name has not been released.
