With life guard services and frequent recreational programming through the Barrington Municipal Recreation Department and various community organizations, the Stoney Island beach is a popular spot in the summer. Kathy Johnson “In addition our work in the Department of Justice that we do collaboratively with people with disabilities, organizations and others, we are expecting the first built environment accessibility proposed standard to be released for public comment shortly and then be enacted next year,” said Almedah. “We’re looking forward to people’s feedback on that." The proposed accessibility standard includes standards for work places.
