All Northumberland Ferries sailings on Sept. 16 are also cancelled due to the forecast of strong winds in the region.
The Confederation Bridge reported wind speeds of 87 km/h with gusts of 107 km/h as of 6 p.m. Saturday. Neil said strong winds will gradually pick up as the day goes on, shifting from a northeast direction to southeast late in the afternoon, with wind gusts up to 90 km/h.
