Minimal damage was reported during the day Saturday before Lee made landfill on Digby Neck
“It was initially expected Lee would land between Yarmouth and Shelburne but a decrease in forward speed and a slower turn northeast did not allow for that to happen,” Aalders said.
At 5:20 p.m. in Digby, Yarmouth and Shelburne counties Nova Scotia’s outage map showed around just under 5,900 Nova Scotia Power customers without power, with the majority of those outages in the Shelburne/Lockeport area. At the corner of Forest and Aberdeen streets in the town, a huge section of beech tree came down overnight, blocking a section of Forest Street.
