‘A healthier and more sustainable community’: Pictou County looking for input into active transportation plan

, held an online information session on May 14 with residents of Pictou County to discuss active transportation in the county and the project's goals.

“If we want to get a little bit more into the project, it also aims to identify specific areas requiring upgrades to facilitate increased active transportation. So that could be something as simple as a specific lip or a curb that maybe makes a sidewalk less accessible,” Broderick said. “Sometimes active transportation is either the only option or the best option, and it can increase social cohesion and communities as it provides more opportunities for people to come together,” she said.
