The diplomatic sources said PM Shehbaz will be accompanied by a high-level delegation during his visit to Tehran. During the trip, he will hold meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei. The Pakistani leadership plans to present its viewpoint on the recent Pakistan-India tensions and their aftermath. The leaders will also exchange views on global and regional peace, security, trade cooperation, and border management. Sources further confirm that Iran’s top leadership will brief Prime Minister Shehbaz on the status of Iran–US nuclear negotiations, a key point of interest in the wider geopolitical landscape. During the meetings, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will thank Iran for its diplomatic efforts during the Pakistan-India standoff, particularly acknowledging Iranian Foreign Minister Syed Abbas Araghchi's visit to Pakistan and mediation efforts. Diplomatic sources also reveal that the prime minister's itinerary includes upcoming visits to Türkiye and Azerbaijan next week.
