At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari will embark on a five-day state visit to China from February 4 to 8, 2025. During his visit, President Zardari is scheduled to meet with Chinese leaders, including President Xi, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior officials in Beijing, according to a statement from the Foreign Office.
Discussions will cover various aspects of Pakistan-China relations, with a focus on economic and trade cooperation, counter-terrorism efforts, security collaboration, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor , and future connectivity projects, said Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan. Both sides will also exchange views on global and regional geopolitical developments and bilateral cooperation in multilateral forums. “At the special invitation of the Chinese government, the president will also attend the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang province,” the spokesperson added.The visit highlights the tradition of high-level exchanges between the two nations, reinforcing their commitment to strengthening the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership. It also reaffirms mutual support on key issues, deepens economic and trade cooperation—particularly through CPEC—and underscores their shared commitment to regional peace, development, and stability. Sources previously informed that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti would accompany President Zardari on his visit. Additionally, discussions with Chinese officials will include developmental projects in Sindh and Balochistan.
