NA passes resolution against India’s moves after Pahalgam incident
ISLAMABAD The National Assembly on Monday unanimously passed a resolution condemning Indian allegations and water aggression after the Pahalgam incident. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Tariq Fazal Chaudhry presented the resolution during the NA session chaired by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
The resolution said that the House condemns Indian moves after the Pahalgam attack, stating that India cannot announce the termination of the Indus Water Treaty . NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s demand for a transparent probe into the Pahalgam attack, stating that all political parties have shown solidarity against the Indian aggression. Opposition Leader Omar Ayub said that the Pahalgam incident has nothing to do with Pakistan, adding, “Shehbaz Sharif’s offer to cooperate in the investigation was saddening. When we have nothing to do with the incident, why be a part of the investigation?” Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his displeasure that the National Assembly session was not serious about an important issue. He criticised the absence of the prime minister and the cabinet ministers from the House, stating that the government should have briefed the House on the security situation. “I had come to the Parliament with great enthusiasm. no seriousness was seen in the House,” he said and walked out of the Parliament in protest.
