NEW YORK — Hyundai Motor America debuted freshened versions of the Tucson compact crossover and Santa Cruz compact pickup with exterior and interior styling enhancements, new safety and convenience technology and updates to the XRT trim packages.
It also has three powertrain options — gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid — and is part of what Hyundai Motor North America CEO Jose Muñoz described in a statement as the company's"full-spectrum eco-powertrain approach."The all-wheel-drive, unibody Santa Cruz joined Hyundai's lineup for the 2022 model year and is based on the Tucson. While it lags the Tucson and Hyundai's other crossovers in volume — U.S.
Both the Tucson and Santa Cruz cabins get a panoramic curved display with an available 12.3-inch digital instrument display and new 12.3-inch centre touchscreen with faster processing times. The redesigned centre stacks also include new physical knobs and switchgear for volume and climate control. The gear shifter in Premium models with the shift-by-wire function is now located on the steering column. Limited models have laminated front side windows for reduced cabin noise. Models with a heated rear seat and steering wheel have temperature setting for more precise control.Changes to the Santa Cruz XRT are more significant. The XRT, powered by a turbocharged 281-hp 2.
