The Arizona Coyotes have recalled forward Josh Doan from the American Hockey League’s Tucson Roadrunners,Doan, 22, leads all first-year AHL players with 26 goals in 62 games with Tucson this season. He also represented the Roadrunners at the 2024 AHL All-Star Classic in San Jose.

Shane Doan, Josh’s father, previously worked in the Coyotes organization and is the Coyotes/Jets franchise’s all-time record holder in practically every meaningful statistical category.Josh Doan has been recalled from Tucson, GM Bill Armstrong tells me.The Coyotes originally drafted Doan as a re-entry prospect from the USHL’s Chicago Steel. He went on to spent two seasons in the NCAA with the Arizona State University Sun Devils, serving as team captain in 2022-23.

The Roadrunners have been one of the top teams in the AHL Pacific Division this season, currently sitting in second place behind the Coachella Valley Firebirds with a 36-21-5 record and 77 points in 62 games. Before joining the Steel organization, Doan honed his game in the growing Phoenix Jr. Coyotes development program. With the Steel, he played alongside the likes of Matt Coronato, Mackie Samoskevich, Sean Farrell, Ryan Ufko, Adam Fantilli, Jackson Blake, and fellow Coyotes prospect Sam Lipkin.
