Toronto Police is investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy in the Dawes Road and Chapman Avenue area Sunday as a homicide.

The suspected shootout happened around 2:30 a.m. in a strip mall parking lot in the area of Ellesmere Road and Midland Avenue.One was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital but died a short time after arriving at the trauma centre. Benson said early evidence suggests multiple weapons were fired. Police recovered a large number of shell casings at the scene, he added.
