Crash happened Wednesday afternoon; child from Barrie pronounced dead in hospital
An ATV crash in Johnson Township on Wednesday afternoon killed a 10-year-old child from southern Ontario.
Shortly after 3:30 p.m., officers with the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police, Johnson Township Fire Department and Algoma Paramedic Services responded to the accident, which happened on Boyer Drive. An investigation revealed that an ATV slid down an embankment and rolled over on top of one of the occupants.
The 10-year-old from Barrie was taken to hospital in Richards Landing, where the child was later pronounced dead.
