If you're trying to go to Tahoe right now, don’t.

State Route 89 between Tahoe City and D.L. Bliss Road is under chain control, as is all of U.S. 50 on the Nevada side.

Drivers trying to reach South Lake Tahoe won’t fare any better than drivers headed north. U.S. 50 eastbound is closed near Kyburz, roughly 28 miles west of the basin. State Route 88 is closed in both directions from just past Buckhorn to its intersection with state Route 89 past Kirkwood Resort. All sections of Route 89 anywhere near Carson Pass and Ebbetts Pass are completely closed.

."Both Palisades and Alpine will be closed today to prioritize the safety of our employees and of our guests."
