Richmond RCMP said it plans to have additional officers on the road around the mall and airport to deal with higher than normal traffic flow. It is expecting high volumes all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, even before the mall opens and closes.Article content It expects traffic to be busy on Friday, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The airport authority advises travellers to take the Canada Line instead. For those who need to drive to the airport, it recommends allowing extra time and planning ahead for parking. People who plan to use the Value Long Term lot adjacent to Templeton Station may face lengthier delays due to the proximity to the mall.
YVR also urged shoppers and people who work in the area to take transit. McArthurGlen outlet is also accessible on the Canada Line, with Templeton Station a short walk away.
