Iran state TV says its US-born newscaster to appear in courtTEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's state-run English-language channel is reporting that its American anchorwoman detained in the U.S. will appear in court in Washington. Press TV said Marzieh Hashemi's court appearance is Friday. It did not elaborate. The newscaster's son has said his mother was arrested Sunday in St. Louis by the FBI on a material witness warrant. The FBI has declined to comment.

American anchor for Iranian TV is arrested on visit to USNEW ORLEANS (AP) — A prominent American anchorwoman on Iranian state television has been arrested by the FBI during a visit to the U.S., the broadcaster reported Wednesday, and her son said she was being held in a prison, apparently as a material witness. Marzieh Hashemi, who worked for the network's English-language service, was detained in St. Louis, where she had filmed a Black Lives Matter documentary after visiting relatives in the New Orleans area. She was then taken to Washington, according to her elder son, Hossein Hashemi.
