A self-proclaimed YouTube influencer had his heavily modified Nissan GT-R impounded after being caught speeding excessively on Highway 19 in British Columbia. The car was clocked at 150 km/h in a 90 km/h zone, leading to a $368 ticket and a week-long impoundment. The driver was unaware of the unmarked police car until it was too late.
A self-described “YouTube influencer” had his heavily modified sports car impounded this week after he was allegedly spotted speeding excessively on Highway 19 north of Nanaimo.
A highway patrol officer noticed the car and grabbed his radar detector after he heard a “loud exhaust” nearby, according to police. “The driver did not realize that in the hands of a skilled police officer, a laser reader will not be picked up by a detector until it’s too late,” said McLaughlin.
