As voters learn to navigate new voter suppression tactics, Republicans will come up with new ways to further suppress votes.Re: “Rejected Texas mail ballots rampant,” Front Page, Saturday:However, election officials are reporting “never-before-seen rates of rejection for hundreds of mail ballots.” This follows reports of mass rejection of requests for mail ballots. Two hurdles that voters by mail are facing.
Fox4 KDFW reported Dec. 31 that the Texas secretary of state’s “first progress report on the audit of the 2020 presidential election in Texas has been released. It shows only a few discrepancies between the electronic count and a recount by hand.” Sen. Paul Bettencourt, who helped craft SB 1, felt confident that the rate of rejection would reduce as voters became familiar with the new requirements.
