Level pollution-fight fieldThe Kyoto Protocol, which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1998 but not ratified by Congress, called for developed nations to cut greenhouse gases. Developing countries such as China and India were exempted from the treaty’s binding targets.
When is a country developed? The U.S. is considered by some as the world’s biggest per capita polluter. But have you ever seen pictures of anyone wearing a mask in the U.S. because of pollution? Can you say the same about photos from China?D.C. can share the painSo Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser has a problem with Texas and Arizona busing unauthorized arrivals to Washington. She doesn’t seem to know what to do with these 4,000 people. Welcome to Texas.
As a native Texan, I’m well aware of the problem. There’s only one difference: Texans have been dealing with 400,000 arrivals coming across the border for the past couple of years. U.S. Customs and Border Protection has had to become humanitarian agents, giving medical care and getting people to detention centers for food, housing and clothing. The burden of this crisis has fallen on Texans.
My advice to Bowser: Deal with it. And you can certainly address this issue with the man sitting in the White House.
