The condo I had in Ottawa installed one after the 1998 Ice Storm. It ran one elevator, hallway lights and water risers to get water above the seventh floor, among other things. It was a godsend during the 2004 power outage. It got regular maintenance.MPs summoned big grocery store CEOs to testify over food inflation. Liberal governments are always great at deflecting blame from problems they cause.

A big problem with the Trudeau-Biden war on fossil fuels has been an escalation in transportation costs, naturally causing food prices to rise. We must also factor in that Trudeau declared farmers must use less manufactured fertilizer to fight climate change, resulting in poorer crop yields. Marketplace costing is based always on supply and demand. Shifting blame to others for inflationary problems they cause will solve nothing.

Trudeau has never taken blame for anything his disastrous policies have caused over eight long years.Trudeau’s green obsession has again cost Canadians more money and inconvenience at grocery stores and drug stores, by cancelling single-use plastic bags. Now we are being charged for reusable cloth bags.

The plastic bags that I would use for household garbage I now have to buy from the grocery store in bulk. And the amount of single-use plastic I take off of the single-use plastic container full of mushrooms each time is more than I will use in a month of covering leftovers to put in my fridge.MIKE DEFALCO
