Having spent 37 years in policing, much of it organizing security for major events, it is puzzling to follow the actions being taken by the Ottawa police. Police departments normally set up security according to intelligence they receive. Yet although former police chief Sloly was informed by the OPP that the “Freedom Convoy” was very large, planned on setting up in Ottawa and was staying, nothing was done to prevent the big rigs from doing just that.
