Do you honestly think he’s going to curb his carbon footprint? Or eat crickets instead of beef? Give your heads a shake. It will never happen.Regarding John Snobelen’s latest column, the fact is the federal government has become so bloated and lethargic that it is unable to move in any direction with any kind of momentum.
Alas, it is not just the managers to blame, but, because nobody is ever held accountable for anything, there is an underlying sense, even for those who want to contribute, you may as well bang your head on the wall because nobody cares.

Alberta Premier Smith and Trump are ‘major distractions’ in Poilievre’s quest to become prime minister, say political insidersIn his quest to become prime minister, Pierre Poilievre faces two vulnerabilities from outside the federal Conservative Party: Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and former U.S. president Donald Trump. Smith’s musings about a two-tier health-care system, and renewed attention on Trump’s populist style of politics as he runs for the Republican Party presidential nomination again could create opportunities for the Liberals to associate Poilievre with each, political observers say. In interviews with The Hill Times, political insiders said Smith’s controversial proposal of a health-care savings account for Albertans will likely be used against the federal Conservatives. Prior to the 2000 federal election, the now-defunct Canadian Alliance Party publicly supported the idea of a two-tier health-care system. The Liberals under then prime minister Jean Chrétien used it as ammunition, accusing the Canadian Alliance—then led by Stockwell Day—of harbouring a “hidden agenda,” and capitalized on this vulnerability. The Liberals went on to win a third consecutive majority government that year. After the debacle, the Canadian Alliance and the Progressive Conservative parties merged in 2003 to become the Conservative Party. “Danielle Smith, with her idea, is opening a vulnerability for Conservatives again,” Greg Lyle, president of Innovative Research, told The Hill Times. “I’m not sure that she understands what she’s done. But it is potentially the most significant thing that’s happened in the past few months in terms of the next federal campaign and certainly the next Alberta campaign.” According to a Nanos Research poll, the Emergencies Act inquiry chaired by Justice Paul Rouleau, has cost Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party four percentage points in the last one month. The inquiry has reminded Canadians that Poilievre supported the Freedom Convoy.
