If Lepine sees this as capitalism at its best, then I say shame on him, and shame on anyone who pays up. At the very least, an equal donation should be made to the Ottawa Food Bank so they can turn $20,000 into $100,000 of purchasing power. Shame on him, too.Congrats to injured goalie and future Hall of Famer Carey Price for speaking up against the federal government’s draconian and mean-spirited gun grab. It seems since then Mr. Freeze has relented somewhat on hunting rifles. This is the most invasive piece of legislation the Grits have put forward, and that certainly is saying something.
Price received blowback from the usual lefties and urbanites who could not tell a rifle from a bazooka. Naturally, politicians, particularly in Quebec, were most upset that his remarks came around the same time as the anniversary of the shootings at Polytechnique, however, they had nothing to do with that horrible incident. Naturally, the once-storied Montreal Canadiens franchise came grovelling to the powers that be over Price’s apparently ill-timed remarks.
