Moments earlier, the president and first lady Jill Biden welcomed Zelensky on the South Lawn. Zelensky wore his familiar green military-style uniform. Zelensky's whirlwind trip, confirmed only last weekend and coinciding with the 300th day of the war, includes meetings with top administration officials and lawmakers, as well as a press conference. The visit will be capped by a prime-time address to a joint session of Congress.Zelensky's visit comes as Congress considers another $45 billion in aid as part of a $1.7 trillion deal to fund the government.
