In the spirit of Pride Month, a time to celebrate strides made and acknowledge ongoing work, we asked notable LGBTQ Canadians to share the advice and wisdom they wish they had received when they were in the process of coming out.

There’s no instruction manual, and everyone is entitled to explore themselves on their own terms. You’re not obligated to rent a billboard, or even justify it to anyone in your life. It’s a personal journey you navigate whenever and however you want. Love who you love, be who you are, and let them all talk.
