As an added incentive to revisit the event's recent past, Magnolia Pictures has decided to donate May's net proceeds of sales and rentals to the Met as well as toand the CFDA's joint initiative to help those in the fashion industry affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
"During these uncertain times of COVID-19 when we all feel somewhat helpless, I wanted to be part of something that will help sustain the industry that has given me, and the world, so much: the fashion industry. That’s why, when I learned about A Common Thread and its effort to provide relief to those hit the hardest, I Immediately decided I wanted to donate the proceeds of the film during the month of May," said Fabiola Beracasa, one of the documentary's producers.
