The New York Yankees and star pitcher Gerrit Cole will be staying together after all, per reports.

The pitcher and team agreed to cancel the opt out and continue with the current contract, which pays out $144 million over the next four years, with the intention of signing an extension. Cole took some heat after failing to cover first base on a Mookie Betts groundball that would've been the third out of the inning, following which five runs came to cross home plate.
