West Virginia University head men's basketball coach Bob Huggins was arrested and charged with driving under the influence Friday in Pittsburgh.after Huggins used a homophobic slur during a radio show in Cincinnati.
When they observed him having difficulty maneuvering the SUV to allow vehicles to pass, police activated their lights to pull him over. Officers said they asked him to exit the vehicle to perform standard field sobriety tests, which he failed.Officers said Huggins had a blood alcohol content of .210 in a breathalyzer test. The legal blood alcohol content limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08.
The coach, who is the highest paid state employee, referred to Xavier fans as "Catholic f***" during the broadcast, which was later posted to Twitter.
