Nils Hoglander almost scored on a partial break in the first minute of the game. A few minutes later, a Christian Wolanin point shot was spilled by Wolf, with Tristen Nielsen unable to convert the rebound. Midway through the first period, Canucks goaltender Spencer Martin had to make his first big save on the Wranglers’ fifth shot of the game, swallowing up the puck in his pads.
