Students in a 'Covering the World Games' media class are learning about the international event.

UA Professor Chandra Clark, center, helps media students set up an Insta360 camera for photography work at BJCC Legacy Arena, one of the venues of the World Games. A group of media students from the University of Alabama has been visiting all the event sites for the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, taking pictures and videos.

The students are using Insta360 cameras to create virtual experiences and tours of the venues for the fans, athletes, and visitors. She worked with department chair Dr. Michael Bruce to set up a class called, “Covering the World Games.” Class members are creating informational graphics with icons to click on that offer details and descriptions on the World Games.“There are people coming from all over the world,” Haynes said. “They need to know, ‘Where can I eat, where can I stay, what are the area attractions?’”
