An oil hauler was severely burned in a Duchesne County oil field explosion. Duchesne County Fire Marshal Joshua Phillips said the worker immediately sought help from a nearby crew after getting caught in the explosion.

According to the media statement, the flash fire occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Skoufus Tribal West pad, where two workover rigs, a hot oiler, and a crude hauler were present. Thirteen workers were on-site preparing for routine operations when the fire broke out. The injured worker was first taken to a local hospital before being life-flighted to Salt Lake City for treatment. No other workers were injured in the incident.

Phillips confirmed that OSHA is investigating the oil field explosion that left an oil hauler severely burned.When asked about the worker’s current condition, Phillips stated, "Last we heard, critical condition is all we know right now."
