The National Transportation Safety Board said the ground crew member was 'ingested' into the engine of a Delta Air Lines plane taxiing to a gate.
The worker was not identified.
The worker was employed by Unifi Aviation, a Delta contractor that supports the airline's ground operations. Unifi said in a separate statement that an initial investigation determined the incident was unrelated to the company’s operational processes, safety procedures and policies.
