Canada’s Wonderland officially welcomed back guests this weekend, but opening day excitement was dampened after multiple fights broke out between the park’s young guests, leading to arrests.
Of course, videos were taken and promptly shared on social media platforms including TikTok and Snapchat, with some on Twitter dubbing the behaviour “Wonderland fight club.”
“After trying to look through our calls, I’m not finding anything on our end that would require a media release or media attention,” a York police spokesperson said.Fights broke out between teens on and off park property Another video shared on social media also showed a woman being escorted out by Wonderland security after audibly asking, “Where did he go? He ran off.” Some of the comments seemed to indicate the woman had been in involved in some kind of argument with a teenager.
In all of the videos uploaded online, it is unclear what led to the altercations, what happened after the individuals were escorted off the property, and whether they had all in fact taken place on park property. The McDonald’s and Starbucks altercations appear to have occurred off-site, with some users in the comments saying the fights had broken out earlier between groups at the park and spilled over when the guests were asked to leave or left on their own accord.
A similar chaperone policy went into effect for Kings Island in southwest Ohio as of April 22 where kids will no longer be allowed inside the park during evening hours either without an adult.
