"There are many examples of inappropriate comments, being called names, having rubbish thrown at them and asking 'how much do you charge?' In the survey, 30% said they get regularly sexually harassed and 94% said they had changed their behaviours following their experiences. "It doesn't seem to click with people. We need to say you can't do what you want, this is unacceptable.
Chairman of the council's licensing committee Dr David Willingham said at the time: "We have got no evidence that the applicant's activity, which the government has said is lawful, is directly causing any of the harms that the objectors have raised."
