Women are missing in the music industry: Less than 3% are producers.
Share to twitterNEW YORK, NY: Nicki Minaj is the top female songwriter over the past eight years with 19 credits,Women are underrepresented in creative roles across the music industry, and just under three percent of producers are women.
Looking at songs individually, gender differences are even more drastic. For example, 56% of popular songs have no female writer. Less than one percent have only female writers.
