COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Franklin County judge sentenced a woman to 15 years to life in prison Thursday in connection to a 2021 murder, according to Prosecuting Attorney Gary Tyack.
Teona Brooks, 24, was sentenced following the shooting death of 39-year-old Maurice Porter on July 22, 2021. Columbus police were called to the 300 block of South Central Avenue in Franklinton on July 22 for a reported shooting. Arriving officers found Porter, who had been shot in the back of the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
