The woman was identified as Kelly Jirgal, 46, by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Jirgal was initially pulled from Montrose Harbor around 2:15 a.m. Sept. 5 after police had responded to a report of a woman who dived into the water near the harbor’s south end and did not surface, authorities said. She was brought to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, authorities said.
Emergency responders had also pulled two other bodies from Lake Michigan on Labor Day, authorities said. Another man has remained missing since Tuesday morning after he went into the water from a boat about a mile off shore near the 31st Street Harbor, police said.is the father of her children. Tanya Lozano, co-founder of Healthy Hood Chicago, said the missing man is Bryan Jackson, an athletic trainer born and raised in Chicago. His loved ones are still searching for him.
