York Regional Police taped off a large area of the parking lot at Vaughan Malls after a woman in her 20s was shot there on Monday. Two men were arrested after a woman in her 20s was fatally shot outside Vaughn Mills mall on Tuesday, York police say. The shooting happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the mall, located near Highway 400 and Rutherford Road.
Responding officers found the victim with gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital, where she died, police said early Wednesday. Her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot, according to police. A short time after the shooting, two men were taken into custody, though police did not say what charges the pair may face.Anyone who witnessed the shooting or may have relevant information or dashcam video is asked to contact York police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
