A woman is in the hospital this morning with 'life-threatening' injuries after being hit by a cargo van on East Fifth Avenue.
Police said a woman was crossing Fifth Avenue just before 5 a.m. when a cargo van traveling westbound hit her. Police said the woman was taken to a hospital with “life-threatening injuries.”
The driver of the cargo van remained on scene and was cooperating with police, according to the alert. Anchorage police say northbound lanes of Ingra Street are closed around Sixth Avenue, as well as Fifth Avenue at Karluk Street, and are asking drivers to use alternate routes while members of the Major Collision Investigation Unit process the scene.This is a developing story.
