A woman and her dog were killed in a house fire in Far East Dallas on Tuesday morning, authorities say.

About 6 a.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue crews were dispatched to a one-story home in the 2500 block of Jonesboro Avenue, near Ashdown Drive, where they found heavy flames coming from a front window.According to Jason Evans, a department spokesman, officials think the fire originated in the home’s front living area, but the “flames were so intense” that they also burned into the attic and through the roof in multiple places.
