A woman died along Pandora Avenue one day after changes were announced to how first responders service calls on the block.
The new strategy comes after a paramedic was assaulted by the person they were helping last week, sending the first responder to hospital. Lack of treatment beds, lack of wrap-around services and support people,” the chief said.Fred Cameron with SOLID Outreach calls this new solution “counterproductive” and says it would further erode the trust between people on the street and first responders.
