A woman has been charged after two people were injured in a Saturday shooting at a Walmart parking lot in Waukegan, police said.
WAUKEGAN, Ill. -- A woman has been charged after two men in their 20s were shot Saturday at a Walmart Super Center parking lot in north suburban Waukegan, according to police.Desteny Rodriguez has been charged with armed robbery and unlawful use of a weapon. Rodriguez is currently in the custody of the Lake County Illinois Jail on a $150,000 bond. Rodriguez will appear in court again on Feb. 23.
Detectives believe Rodriguez and a man in his 20s, who were in a white Dodge Durango, agreed to meet two other men in their 20s, who were in a black Nissan Altima, at the Walmart in Waukegan to exchange guns. Detectives recovered two semi-automatic pistols and an"assault style weapon" in the Durango. They have not released the brands or calibers of the three weapons recovered.Police said this investigation is open and active. More arrests are possible, however much follow up is needed.
